How it works

Starline doesn't search old databases. It searches today's internet.

Live Search plans a real set of queries for your audience, runs them against the live web through your own connected search provider, and turns the results into scored, sourced company records — live, in front of you, one real query at a time.

1. Plan

Describe an audience — an industry, a keyword, a city, a country. The Search Planner builds a real set of queries across five strategies: broad discovery, role-targeted (finding the person), contact-surface (finding the address), source-targeted (LinkedIn, directories, registers) and geographic fan-out. Connect an AI provider and the planner reasons about your specific audience — real synonyms, real target roles, real cities — rather than a fixed template.

2. Search

Every query in the plan actually runs, one at a time, against your own connected search provider. Progress is shown honestly as each one completes — no animation runs ahead of a real result landing.

3. Corroborate, never duplicate

A company found by three different queries becomes one record with three sources, not three records. The more independent queries name the same company, the higher its confidence — a real, computed number, never invented.

4. Score

Every company gets two separate scores: a Lead Quality band (how confident we are it is real and relevant) and an Opportunity band (whether it looks worth prioritising). They are deliberately different — a high-quality match is not always a good buyer.

5. Show the source

Every company carries the exact URL it was found at. Click it and you are reading the same page Starline read. Nothing is presented without where it came from.

What this does not do yet

Stated plainly, the same way our security page states its own gaps.

Full-page harvesting

Today's results come from search-result snippets — titles, links and short descriptions. Fetching a company's own site for structured facts (JSON-LD, team pages, registries) is real, scoped future work, not built yet.

Named decision-makers

Live Search finds companies. Finding and naming a specific person at that company — from a team page, a registry, or a public LinkedIn listing — is a later milestone.

Verified email addresses

Nothing here guesses or verifies an email address yet. That is part of the same future contact-discovery milestone.
