Starline Research

A research assistant you drive, in the browser you already use

Most prospecting tools sell you a database somebody compiled once. This is the opposite: you look at a real company's real website, and the extension turns what is published there into a CRM record — after you have checked it.

Find

Say what you sell and who you are looking for. The extension builds the searches — Google, Maps, directories, company sites — and opens them as ordinary tabs behind the one you are on.

Research

On a company's own website, one tap opens the searches worth running about them: their LinkedIn page, their team and about pages, published addresses on their domain, their social profiles, recent news, and who they are hiring.

Capture

It reads what the page publishes about itself — company name, description, location, published email addresses, social links — and shows it to you in editable fields. Nothing is sent until you have looked at it.

Send

One button writes it into your StarlineCRM. Two people from one website join the same company; the same person captured twice updates one contact rather than making a second.

What it will not do

These are limits in the code, not a policy somebody could change their mind about. An extension that collected behind a login would break those platforms' terms, and the account it cost would be yours, not ours.

  • It does not sign in anywhere for you, and cannot see anything behind a login you have not opened yourself.
  • It does not get past a bot check, a paywall or a rate limit.
  • It does not click through result pages, scroll to load more, or run on a timer.
  • It does not automate LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook or X — no connection requests, no messages, no follows.
  • It does not run in the background. It reads the page only while you have the popup open on it.
  • It sends to exactly one place: the StarlineCart address you gave it. There is no third-party endpoint and no analytics.

Nothing is sent unreviewed

A company name guessed from a page title is wrong often enough that sending it unseen would fill a CRM with work to undo. Everything the extension reads lands in editable fields first, and the button says "Send to StarlineCart" because that is the moment you decide.

How it authenticates

With a token you create in StarlineCart and can revoke on its own — not your session cookie. The token is stored hashed on the server, authorises capture into your own account and nothing else, and revoking it stops the extension immediately while signing you out of nothing.

Installing it

It is not in the Chrome Web Store yet. Today it is loaded unpacked from the repository, which takes about ten minutes and works in Chrome, Edge, Brave or any other Chromium browser — the steps are in STARLINE_EXTENSION_LOCAL_SETUP.md. You need a StarlineCart account, which is free.

The CRM it writes into is free forever

No seat count, no record limit, no trial. Create an account and the extension has somewhere to send things.
